This month we welcomed another stylist, Maria, to our fantastic team, taking our number of stylists up to 12, including myself (two are currently on maternity nurturing our next generation of stylists)!
With 3 absolute superstar apprentices who will be fully-fledged stylists with us in the next 6-12 months that will take us up to a team of 15 stylists!
Next year will be 5 years since we expanded, where we more than doubled the size of the salon and with that, of course, put more sections in for our growing number of creatives to work. It was a 5 year plan to fill those sections. Guess how many sections we were aiming to fill….15 🙂
Don’t you just love it when a plan comes together!
This kind of thing always makes me sit back and take stock. I must say I’m more proud than ever about what we do, how we do it and in particular the team we have. Every single one of them is passionate about what they do and importantly how WE do it. They all want to learn and be the best they can be and have ambitions to have really successful careers. As well as this, they constantly raise each other’s game, inspire each other and support each other so much.
Another accomplishment in the team is the amount of apprentices we have trained up. By the end of the year we will have fully trained up 10 in our time. That’s over one a year and one of the things I think makes me most proud. I’ve given these people a career, sometimes those people were quite lost and now they’re not, they are different people by the end and they have purpose; that’s a powerful and rewarding thing. It’s something I personally invest heavily in, both financially and in terms of time but it is one of my greatest passions!
Not only do our team love all things AJS but it appears you lot do too. Our client base is still growing rapidly, even 8 years since opening, hence why our stylist team keeps growing. We will soon be hitting the 1000 regular clients a month mark which blows my mind. We see 50+ new clients every month, for which we must say thank you, because so much of this is down to our loyal AJS devotees spreading the word.
So in short, what a journey and one I feel we are still at the beginning of. We’ve achieved so much individually and collectively. I wonder what the next 8 years will bring? Thank you to all those who have been involved so far.
